How do I pay for my items?

Following the close of the auction, the credit card you have kept on file with HiBid will be billed automatically via CurrencyPay. If the card on file is not up to date, or is otherwise declined, you will be contacted for an alternate payment method. Items not paid for within 3 days will be considered abandoned property. Out of [New York] state bidders successful in buying gold or silver will be required to pay by wire transfer.

Is there a Buyers' Premium?

The buyers’ premium is 15%. If there is a change to this, it will be listed in the auction details on HiBid.

Can I consign with Mapes?

If you have item(s) you are interested in consigning, please fill out our online form here.

Pickup & Shipping

Pickup

  • NO APPOINTMENT IS NECESSARY FOR PICKUP
  • Items must be picked up at Mapes Auctioneers & Appraisers (1729 Vestal Pkwy. W. Vestal, NY 13850) from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Wednesday through Friday.
  • Buyer assumes responsibility for making arrangements to pick up their item(s). If items are not picked up WITHIN 3 DAYS of auction closing and alternate arrangements are not made, these items will be considered abandoned property. They will be resold or otherwise disposed of without further notice.
  • We do not guarantee boxes, packing materials help loading upon pickup. Please come prepared.

    Shipping

    • Shipping is available for most items at the buyer’s expense. In addition to postage fees, we charge a $10 MINIMUM packing fee.
    • Shipping estimates can be provided upon request. Please submit your requests no later than 3pm Tuesday. All items shipped must be insured. Explicit written consent is required if you do not wish to have your entire purchase shipped.
    • We will not ship box-lot items under any circumstances.
    • If an item can not be shipped in-house, the buyer assumes responsibility to arrange for third-party shipping within 7 days of auction closing.
